About the new facility
News that Gadsden State is getting a new technical facility was met with enthusiasm and sincere appreciation, according to reports. Officially referred to as the Advanced Manufacturing and Workforce Skills Training Center, the new facility will be built on the East Broad Campus in Gadsden.
Gadsden State is getting a new technical facility after the need was identified as part of the ACCS ASPIRE 2030 initiative. The creation of a community college system-wide initiative is to stimulate “community-focused strategic planning for capital improvement projects.”
Hence, the construction of the 50,000-square-foot, state-of-the-art facility. The Advanced Manufacturing and Workforce Skills Training Center will provide needed support and training for a variety of high-paying, in-demand fields.
More about the future facility
The brand-new educational and training facility will create new avenues for several career-technical programs and provide high-quality training for a highly-skilled workforce.
The Etowah Chamber of Commerce shared photos of the February 21st ground breaking and noted the upcoming technical facility will have multiple classrooms, laboratories, offices and more.
In fact, it will also include a storm shelter, a multipurpose room, several tool and storage rooms, a testing suite, a kitchen, a serving area and a break room. Some of the labs will feature glass viewing windows for observers during tours and campus visits.
Another cool feature at the Gadsden State facility will connect job seekers and industry partners through shared information on a digital display.
