If you are looking to add a little spice to your life in 2023, head to JP & Son Café in Southside for authentic Cajun and Creole cuisine!

About JP & Son Café

Just off Alabama Highway 77, JP & Son Café celebrated its grand opening on October 18, 2022. This family-owned restaurant is a dream come true for owners J.P. Pendergrass and his son, Corrigan.

The menu

Wondering what to order when you visit this new restaurant? For starters, choose from tasty appetizers such as JP’s Gumbo, fried green tomatoes or “Muddy Fries.”

To clarify, these are no ordinary fries. They are topped with shredded beef, peppers, onions, cheese and brown gravy.

After a hearty app, it’s on to a main dish. Those range from gourmet burgers like the “Blu Bayou Burger” to the “Ragin Cajun Reuben” to “Pastalaya.”

Asking yourself about the “Pastalaya?” It’s a plate full of chicken, sausage, peppers and onions piled high over egg noodles with Cajun Alfredo sauce. You can even get crazy and add shrimp for just $3!

Sides include favorites like white cheddar mac and cheese, French fries, creole mayo slaw and Zydeco house chips, just to name a few. Check out the full menu here.
