The summer show
As The Sound of Music recently wrapped up, the theater is now preparing for what’s next. We’ll give you a hint. It’s a timeless American classic that mainly takes place on the mighty Mississippi. It’s a tale of friendship, sacrifice and freedom.
It’s none other than Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn based on Mark Twain’s famous novel. Follow along with the funny, gripping and moving adventures of the willful, but lovable, Huck Finn as he helps his friend Jim find freedom.

Coming this fall
If summer vacation plans stop you from seeing the summer show, don’t sweat it. You can still see a show presented by the Theatre of Gadsden this fall. In fact, you can take your pick!
Guests will be entertained and delighted to see Tennessee Williams’ Pulitzer Prize winning Cat on a Hot Tin Roof set for the stage September 16th-25th.
The 2022 Season at the Ritz Theatre will call it a wrap after the presentation of White Plains, Blue Mountain October 28th-November 6th.

If you have dreams of seeing your name in lights, you better act fast! Open auditions for Big River: The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn are coming up.
More specifically, Big River auditions will be held Sunday, May 15th, at 2 p.m. as well as Monday, May 16th, at 6:30 p.m. Initial auditions are vocal only. Click here for more information and audition forms.
