Lions, tigers, and bears—oh my! It’s not just a saying. It’s literal on North Alabama’s “Untamed Mountain.” With more than 160 wild animals in their care, Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain aims to provide a permanent home for these majestic, predatory creatures.
About Tigers for Tomorrow
Founded in 1999, Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain is a nonprofit 501(c)(3) residing in Alabama’s Dekalb County. Tigers for Tomorrow’s original roots began in Florida, but poor weather conditions in 2004 and 2005 led the nonprofit to seek more accommodating conditions. The foothills of Alabama’s Appalachian Mountains fit the bill.
Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain serves as a preserve for wild animals that need permanent homes, whether due to previous owner neglect or abandonment. The nonprofit houses African lions, tigers, bears, mountain lions, wolves, black leopards, and more. In addition, the preserve welcomes visitors regularly for information and educational programming aimed at predatory population preservation. For Tigers for Tomorrow, humans and wildlife play important roles in each other’s lives. The nonprofit seeks to instill mutual respect between patrons and the predators.
Wishing you could get an up-close and personal experience with this amazing wildlife? Tigers for Tomorrow at Untamed Mountain provides the opportunity to do just that! The preserve offers educational and group tours, private experiences, corporate trips, and even birthday parties. It’s not only a chance to witness wildlife like you’ve never seen before: it also gives a newfound respect for these animals that also call our world home.
